Thermal Race Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026. Applies from Thermal Race 1.1.5 onward.

This policy explains what information Thermal Race processes when you use the solo game, online rooms, the League, notifications, Google Play services, or bug reports.

The independent developer of Thermal Race is the data controller. Privacy questions can be sent through the in-game bug report or the developer contact shown on the Google Play listing.

Thermal Race contains no advertising, does not use the Android advertising identifier, and does not sell personal data.

1. Data stored only on your device

Language and audio preferences, solo progress, medals, selected equipment, colors, and saved course seeds are normally stored locally on your device. They are not sent to the Thermal Race server unless they are needed for an online feature.

2. Classic multiplayer

To create or join a room, the server processes the nickname you choose, the room state, and the gameplay data required for synchronization, including position, rotation, altitude, course progress, equipment, and race status. Network services also receive technical connection information such as the IP address.

Classic rooms are temporary. Their live state is removed when the room expires.

3. League accounts and results

If you use the League, Thermal Race stores an internal account identifier, your nickname, sessions, rules acceptance, registrations, results, monthly standings, sanctions if applicable, and temporary technical flight traces.

With Google sign-in, the server stores a protected hash of the Google account identifier, not your Google password. With a Thermal Race account, the password is protected with Argon2 and is never stored in plain text.

League results and nicknames are publicly visible on the Thermal Race website. This history may be retained to preserve competition standings, even after an account is deleted, but the account credentials and active access are removed.

4. Notifications

The daily League reminder is disabled by default. The result notification is enabled by default and asks for Android notification permission on first launch. When either option is enabled, Thermal Race and Firebase Cloud Messaging process a device notification token, platform information, and delivery status. The server encrypts the token used to send notifications. Each notification type can be disabled independently in Settings.

5. Bug reports

If you voluntarily submit a bug report, the server stores your description and useful technical context such as the app version, platform, operating system, device model, language, current screen, and display size. Do not include confidential information in the free-text fields.

An external account-deletion request stores the account identifier and contact email you provide until the request has been verified and processed.

6. Google services

Thermal Race may use Google identity for League sign-in, Google Play Games for leaderboards, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for optional notifications. These services are operated by Google under Google's own privacy terms. Thermal Race sends only the information required for the feature you choose.

7. Purposes and legal basis

Data is processed to provide the game and its requested online features, maintain rankings, secure accounts and the server, prevent abuse, handle reports, and support players. Account and online-game processing is necessary to provide the requested service; optional notifications are based on your choice.

8. Retention and security

Sessions expire, classic rooms are temporary, and flight traces are retained only for a limited technical period. League results are retained for competition history. Bug reports are retained for investigation and maintenance. Thermal Race uses HTTPS, protected identifiers, hashed passwords and tokens, and encrypted notification credentials.

9. Your choices and account deletion

You can disable notifications in Settings. You can delete your League account from League > Account > Delete account. Deletion removes credentials, sessions, and registered devices and anonymizes the account where records must be kept for competition integrity.

Request account deletion without the app

For another privacy question, use Report a bug from the main menu and select the most relevant category, or use the developer contact shown on the Google Play listing.

10. Children and policy changes

Thermal Race does not knowingly seek personal information from children and contains no targeted advertising or private messaging. This policy may be updated when the game or its online services change. The update date and applicable version will be shown here.
